How house we accredit the information that we get from the media is from accurate sources? The answer is we never truly can. The article that is summarized in this paper is from the American Communication Journal. The base of operations of this article is that information is recently creation more than and more gathered from the internet which is not as reliable. (Johnson, 2000)
Many disparate studies were performed to see what population responded to when watching news show programs, be it ruling based news or the use of internet as a medium for news. Online news channels are perceive under the four lenses of credibleness, liking, quality, and representativeness (Sundar, 1999). The studies showed that online news channeled had about the same credibility factor as a traditional television news source. Studies also showed that more and more people are bend to online as their only news source. The question is are these people getting credible and correct information due to blogs being a large source of news media on the internet.
man there has been a large expanse on credibility of sources, not many have covered the internet as one. The studies that have experimented with that medium have reported that the bloggers definitely add on a margin of error to any information on the internet. The problem with any kind of news medium is that we wear thint know how much of it is being reported without bias. From the sources to the reporters to the counseling to the owners everyone is putting their own political bias on it which is wherefore communicated to the public.
The same story reported on two contrary stations such as MSNBC and Fox news can have very different interpretations of what they present to the public.
