Lady Capulet Is Guilty

Have you ever been forced into doing things beyond your will? In the play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, Juliet experiences the exact same scenario which results in the tragical death of Romeo (Montague) and Juliet (Capulet). Juliet had fallen in love with Romeo and the two trenchant to get married. Lady Capulet, Juliets, mother, was unaware of the secret wedlock and so she pushed Juliet into marrying the noble, county capital of France. Lady Capulet did not know some Juliets jointure because she never had a close relationship with her daughter. She also further the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues, creating more tension in Romeo and Juliets secret marriage. It is because of these three suits that Lady Capulet is to blame for the tragedy.
Lady Capulet is force Juliet to marry Paris even though Juliet insists that she does not wishing to marry him. Instead of Lady Capulet listening to Juliets intellectual for refusal or talking to her, she tells the troubled teen that she must postulate the marriage proposal because it is what she wants from Juliet.
This night you shall behold him at our ranch:
Read oer the volume of young Paris face
And find the delight writ there with Beautys pen (I, iii, l 81-83)

This shows Lady Capulets ignorance to how Juliet feels about the marriage and the lack of sympathy she has for her daughter.



Later she continues to push Juliet towards marriage by saying:
What are you busy, ho? Do you need my overhaul? (IV, iii, l 6)
She was making sure that everything was alright for the wedding so that Juliet could be officially married to her standard. If Lady Capulet had known about Juliets marriage to Romeo, Juliet would not have to fight to keep up her marriage with Romeo and the tragedy would not have occurred.
The second reason why Lady Capulet is responsible for the tragedy is her lack of acquaintance with Juliet unlike the relationship Juliet has with the Nurse.
