The Americans were destined to suffer criticism enough for asserting the inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness while themselves owning slaves.[1]

The twenty-eighth charge, made by the primary author, Thomas Jefferson, accused the British king of app solelying the slave trade upon the colonies against their will.[2] In his earlier draft of the document, Jefferson claimed that the approach pattern had been forced on the colonies by the British and perniciously bred into their economic life.[3] Jefferson

asserted that the onus of the certain slave trade issue was that of the kings by refusing to countenance the abolition of the slave trade.



[4] The slave trade charnge was eventually dropped, mostly in deference to the colonies with large slave populations, namely Georgia and south-central Carolina.

It was certainly an ironic charge against the British king and, through with(predicate) a few brief descriptions of the mind sets of Jefferson, his peers and some global colonial observations, I will attempt to show that, although the king was partially responsible, there was enough blame to go nearly to make Jeffersons charge fairly outlandish.
