The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is the story of a immature white boy and a slaves go to the North. Though its a very touching tale, its one of the most controversial books to date. Throughout the book, the use of the N news program is very prominent. Twain doesnt use this word honest five or six times, alone sort of uses it a whopping two hundred and nineteen times. Although it is offensive, I believe that schools should use the original version in property of the censored copy.
                  The censored version replaces the N word with slave for each and every time it is used. The problem with this is there is a different connotation between the word slave and the N word. Those words mean completely different things, and dont refer to the same people. The use of the N word is critical to the story, because it is a word that can only explain the narrative of African Americans. There can be Spanish, Canadian, French slaves, but only African Americans fall into the category used to lodge the N word. In an interview from 60 minutes, teacher Nora says, It makes reek in this novel to teach it with the controversy. It makes sense to bring up all of the hard emotions, they come with it. Its not just a classic book, its not just the port the words are written, its the ideas.
